A striking signed Murano art glass sculpture by Italian artist Renato Anatra, depicting a pair of elegant cockatoos perched upon a sculptural clear glass branch.
The two birds are beautifully modeled in soft pink and opalescent glass, with subtle tonal gradations that shift from deeper rose at the heads and upper bodies into luminous milky white and pale blue tones toward the wings and tails. Their expressive crests are rendered in clear and lightly tinted glass, individually drawn upward to create a sense of movement and delicacy.
Each cockatoo is perched upon a dynamically formed clear glass branch base, which rises organically from a substantial rounded foot. The transparent support allows light to pass through the sculpture, emphasizing the clarity, internal reflections, and fluidity of the hand-worked glass.
The sculpture is signed “R. Anatra” to the base.
