Rare complete fossil turtle shell from the Pleistocene period, identified as Trachemys platymarginata, an extinct freshwater slider turtle species found in Florida. This specimen comes from Gilchrist County, Florida, an area known for significant Pleistocene vertebrate fossil material.

The shell is offered without the skeleton and displays a well-preserved domed carapace form with visible scute patterning, natural surface texture, and mineralized fossil coloration. Complete or substantially complete turtle shells are far less common than individual shell plates, as turtle shells often separate into individual scutes after burial and fossilization.

A distinctive natural history specimen, this fossil would display beautifully in a cabinet of curiosities, library, study, gallery, or fossil collection. Its compact size and recognizable form make it both scientifically interesting and highly decorative.
