An elegant pair of late 20th century sterling silver centerpiece bowls by Damar, each distinguished by a dramatic sculptural silhouette and finely applied botanical ornament. Comparable Damar examples are documented as Turkish production and marked “DAMAR 925,” indicating sterling silver fineness.
Each bowl is formed with a broad, sweeping body rising into an expressive undulating petal-form rim, creating the appearance of an open flower. The fluid contours give the silver a distinctly organic quality, while the highly polished surfaces beautifully reflect light and emphasize the hand-worked form.
Delicate applied branches, leaves, buds, and floral elements extend around the perimeter, providing an intricate naturalistic counterpoint to the bold simplicity of the vessel. Each bowl is elevated on a substantial rounded pedestal foot, lending balance and a refined presentation.
