An impressive pair of French silver-plated bronze candelabras, dating to the 19th century.
Each candelabrum rises from a richly modeled asymmetrical base with scrolling rocaille ornament and deeply cast foliate decoration. The sculptural stem continues upward through a succession of acanthus leaves, floral motifs, and molded details before branching into five candleholders arranged on gracefully curving arms.
The candle cups are fashioned in the form of stylized flower buds above foliate drip pans, reinforcing the naturalistic character of the composition. The silvered surface accentuates the depth of the casting, creating dramatic highlights across the scrollwork and botanical ornament.
