A refined pair of Italian Mid-Century wall sconces, circa 1950s, designed in the manner of Gio Ponti for FontanaArte, combining sculptural grooved brass with distinctive Nile green cut-crystal collars.
Each sconce is conceived in a striking torch-form silhouette, with a fluted, tapering brass body rising from a circular architectural backplate enriched with radiating geometric detail. The upper section is accented by a substantial faceted crystal ring in a pale aqua-green tone, creating a luminous contrast against the warm brass structure.
The combination of grooved brass, geometric mounting plates, and colored crystal is strongly associated with sophisticated Milanese lighting of the postwar period.
