Fine 19th century Sèvres-style biscuit porcelain and gilt bronze figural group, dating to the Napoleon III period. The scene depicts an elegant domestic interior with three figures arranged on an ornate gilt bronze platform base.
At center, a standing woman in a richly draped gown appears to be in the process of being dressed or fitted, with a maid or dressmaker attending to her garment at the side. Seated nearby, a gentleman reclines in a gilt chair, observing the scene with a theatrical, almost conversational presence. The composition suggests a refined dressing-room or boudoir scene, capturing a moment of aristocratic daily life with humor, elegance, and narrative detail.
The figures are modeled in matte white biscuit porcelain, allowing the sculptural details of the clothing, facial expressions, and poses to stand out with great clarity.
