An exquisite Late 19th Century French Louis XVI Revival sculptural bust depicting Queen Marie Antoinette, signed “Le Tourneur”, beautifully made in biscuit porcelain and mounted on an elaborately decorated gilt-bronze pedestal base.
The sculpture portrays the celebrated French queen with an elegant, serene expression, delicately modeled facial features, and an elaborate upswept hairstyle adorned with sculptural roses and an ornamental headdress. Finely carved curls descend gracefully around her neck and shoulders.
Particularly remarkable is the detailed treatment of her royal attire, featuring fleur-de-lis emblems, delicate lace-like borders, braided cords, ornamental tassels, and flowing ceremonial drapery. A large oval portrait medallion at the center of her chest further emphasizes the composition's royal iconography.
The reverse bears the incised signature “Le Tourneur”, together with a distinctive decorative monogram featuring the letter “F” enclosed within a diamond-shaped emblem with extended ornamental lines.
