A superb Early 20th-century French gilt-bronze and onyx clock garniture, comprising a figural mantel clock and a matched pair of candelabra, executed in the refined neoclassical taste. The central clock is surmounted by a finely cast seated female figure, gracefully draped and rendered with exceptional detail, evocative of the Allegories of the Arts, a popular and highly collectible theme in French decorative arts of the period.
The clock case, carved from luminous pale onyx, displays elegant contours and warm translucency, beautifully contrasted by the rich gilt-bronze mounts. The enamel dial, with Roman numerals and delicate hands, is framed in ormolu, lending a harmonious balance between sculptural and functional elements.
Flanking the clock, the pair of candelabra mirror the sophistication of the central piece, each featuring scrolling gilt-bronze arms, suspended decorative chains, and finely turned stems rising from matching onyx bases. Their architectural symmetry enhances the grandeur of the ensemble.
