An exceptional and monumental French hand-carved gilt wood & plaster with real gold finish mirror in the Rococo style, lavishly adorned with elaborate rocaille and foliate motifs throughout the frame. The mirror’s crest features a finely detailed putti, symbolizing triumph and love, surrounded by scrolling acanthus leaves and floral garlands.
Set into the sides of the frame are two exquisite Sevres porcelain plaques, each hand-painted with romantic pastoral scenes typical of the Sevres tradition. The delicate colors and refined brushwork contrast beautifully with the warm tones of the gilded wood.
The lower portion of the mirror is richly ornamented with floral and scrollwork carvings, demonstrating the artistry and craftsmanship of late 19th-century French decorative arts.
