This large circular ceramic plaque presents a finely rendered Renaissance-style profile portrait of a noblewoman, executed with remarkable delicacy and academic precision. The sitter is shown adorned in period costume, featuring a richly detailed bodice, ruffled collar, jeweled necklace, and embroidered headdress. The composition is set against an opulent gilt scrolling ground, creating dramatic contrast and depth.
Encircling the portrait is an elaborate border enriched with coralene beading, a specialized raised enamel technique prized during the late 19th century for its jewel-like texture and dimensional brilliance.
