An exquisite late 19th century French champlevé enamel and gilt bronze mounted vase, executed in the richly decorative taste of the Napoleon III / Belle Époque period.
The circular gilt bronze base is adorned with a classical Greek key (meander) border, above which rises a clover-form platform lavishly decorated in vibrant turquoise blue champlevé enamel with black and red foliate accents. The enamel work is finely executed, with recessed cells filled and fired to create jewel-like color saturation against the warm gilded ground.
Three finely modeled gilt bronze putti (cherubs) encircle the central stem, each standing in contrapposto and supporting the glass trumpet above. Their sculptural quality adds dimensionality and movement to the piece, reinforcing its neoclassical revival aesthetic.
The upper vase consists of a flared art glass trumpet form, with a frosted lower section and delicately etched floral decoration throughout the upper register. Subtle horizontal etched banding near the base of the glass adds refinement and visual structure.
